Labyrinths

This map was created in homage to Italo Calvino. The labyrinth is an image elevated by the writer to a gnosiological-cultural metaphor of contemporary society, a reflection on the attitudes needed today to face the complexity of the real world, while representing the absence of exit routes as the real state of contemporary man. The guide for travelling through the labyrinth is American Lessons, the writer’s literary testament. This consists of a series of six lectures that the author was to give in the autumn of 1985 at Harvard University.

Within the labyrinth, everything is told through Calvino’s works.
Paraphrasing Calvino: this map, this Inferno, is a voyage into the dark world of the living.
